A recommendation for an hotel in the Republic of Ireland; one that helped us deliver a stonkingly successful conference and celebration event in January. I speak of Killashee hotel, less than an hour southwest of Dublin Airport on the outskirts of the small town of Naas. The hotel combines great leisure facilities, with exceptional hospitality in a lovely laid back, but very comfortable environment. But I hear you cry... ‘many hotels offer this and are far easier to get to’, which is indeed true, however, this is a place that will charm you to a whole other level. Without exception, we were met with staff with personality, an incredible can-do attitude to some rather 'interesting' challenges that we asked of them, and an all-round bonhomie that typifies what one should expect of great hotels but cannot always find it. At Killashee, nothing was too much trouble, from a last-minute change of gala dinner theme, to obtaining 200m of red rope (you read correctly), to a late arranging of our very own 'Great British/Irish Bake Off' competition! Everything was taken in its stride, with good grace and a genuine enthusiasm for doing a great job. I just wanted to thank you for all your work and support in the run up to the ICS meeting, Everything was fantastic at the hotel and the feedback from delegates was very positive. The layout of the meetings spaces, the availability of additional space, along with the helpfulness of the staff all combined to make it one of our best meetings yet. A particular shout out to the number of young staff who were so nice and polite over the few days, everyone seemed to really like working in the hotel which is lovely to see. We hosted our company's offsite meeting in June 2022. We brought together 40 people from across Ireland, Canada, and the US. We had guests arriving at all different times and Killashee did a prompt check-in process as soon as the rooms were available. Through the planning & coordination, Lisa Kelly was quick to respond and get details or information that was requested. Our meeting in particular had lots of changes to the agenda and Lisa and the Team at Killashee were prompt to accommodate the changes (even at the last minute). Killashee is a wonderful location to host company meetings as there are many meeting spaces to choose from. The locations and layouts of the spaces allow for entire group sessions or small breakout sessions which facilitates smaller team discussions. The onsite food & beverage options were well received by our team. Killashee was able to arrange a special menu of room service items that our guests could order upon their arrival (which varied) and was appreciated for those who had particularly long travels. The first evening we hosted a welcome team dinner in the Great Hall Suite. It was not only beautiful, but functional as well. The tables were set up in rounds and provided an atmosphere to sit back, enjoy a lovely dinner, and conversations with colleagues. One of our team's favourite spaces was the onsite Snug pub located right on the ground floor. If you're able to rent out the entire pub as it's a great venue for sharing conversations over a few beers. Overall, Lisa and the Team at Killashee truly understand the needs of businesses looking to book guest rooms and meeting spaces. I would highly recommend Killashee for your next company off site meeting or retreat! I cannot thank the Killashee Hotel enough for the service we received on the day and the lead up to our event. I worked along with Amy from the Events Team and she was absolutely amazing at accommodating all of our needs as we changed them quite a bit. Her patience and recommendations and attention to detail, made my job much easier and I felt confident all our needs were met. I cannot thank her enough. We had extra guests arrive unexpectedly on the day and all the floor team and catering couldn't have been more supportive bringing in extra tables and chairs without any disruption. We had an amazing day and were blown away by the event space. I would highly recommend it.
