1. Kildare Maze
Re-Opening this, Easter! This is Leinster’s largest hedge maze and is in the North Kildare countryside. They provide the perfect mix of an exciting day out with good old-fashioned fun for families. The maze was grown to mark the Millennium and is designed in the shape of a St. Brigid's Cross. The fully-grown hedge maze covers approximately 1.5 acres with more than 1.5 miles of paths, with hedges over 6 feet high- Will you be able to find your way out? 2. Lullymore Heritage Park
Lullymore developed its facilities to provide a quality blend of education, leisure and fun and prides itself on being one of the top family attractions in Ireland. The Parks unique rural scenic location and its state-of-the-art play areas make for a refreshing and safe place for families to enjoy a day out together. Families can enjoy great indoor / outdoor play areas, pet farm, treasure hunts and train trips at their leisure. The Park also has 60 acres of meandering trails through peatlands, lakes and ancient woodland with lots of fascinating exhibitions to visit along the way. There is a large cafe / shop on site and lots of picnic areas for outdoor dining.
This is an eggcellent venue for an Easter family visit as the Easter event is from April 16th to 22nd. Join the Easter Bunny to solve the Easter puzzle and collect your egg & prize. The Egg hunt is the most ee-citing of all with the clues hidden all over the park. There is also a crazy golf course, large playground & award-winning Peatland Biodiversity trail.
3. Jungle Den Play Centre
The Jungle Den is a state-of-the-art play facility for children. They have plenty to keep your children entertained while getting great exercise at the same time! Some of the activities include climbing nets, rope bridges, tube slider, ball pool, dizzy discs, mouse holes and much more. While the little ones have the time of their life in a safe and secure environment, the adults can relax in the café with an extensive menu and barista coffee.
4. Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens
Kildare its best known for its thoroughbred roots, Experience True Nature at the unique Kildare National Stud, which is home to many magnificent and prize-winning horses. Their focus here is to produce Irish thoroughbreds capable of being crowned champions at home and abroad. They have a horse museum open to the public for you to learn about the greatest and most famous Irish horses in history. The Japanese Gardens within the grounds is famous throughout the world and the finest of their kind in Europe. Enjoy a walk around this haven, where you will find many blossoms, trees, rocks & water. A complete natural environment to cleanse the mind. They have a playground to entertain the children too! Their facilities include swings, slides and climbing frames.
5. Donadea Forest Park
The Park is a designated National Heritage Area. There are many historical features including the remains of Donadea Castle and walled gardens, St. Peter's church, an icehouse and boat house. The Lime tree avenue planted in the 19th century formed the original entrance to the estate. Another feature of the park is the 9/11 Memorial, a scaled replica of the twin towers carved in limestone. The small lake is brimming with flora and fauna including mallard duck, waterhen, fish and a beautiful display of water lilies in the summer. There is a cafe open throughout the year.
6. Clonfert Pet Farm
Clonfert Pet Farm which was established in 2009, started out as a small open farm with approx 10 different types of animals and an outdoor play area. Since then, they have continually worked hard to improve the facilities and have increased their animal family to over 60 different types of wonderful and exotic animals. They have added a coffee shop, walk ways, picnic areas, an additional outdoor play area, an indoor soft play area and mini-golf for your enjoyment. Over the years the farm has grown from strength to strength and continues to thrive as a successful local family business that is committed to providing an affordable and fun day out for you and your family.
The Easter Festival guarantees lots of fun for the family with a Fun fair, treasure hunt, teddy bears picnic and face painting. The Easter Festival is on from the 9th to the 17th of April and tickets are available online via Clonfert Pet Farm website.

7. Luggwoods Enchanted Forest
Luggwoods Easter Enchanted Forest is on from the 9th-18th of April. This outdoor Easter experience is a springtime sensation with singing and dancing all along the Easter trail. Enjoy meeting the fairy tale characters to crack the code of the Easter puzzle. There is a mini petting farm and you also get to meet the Easter Bunny and every child receives an easter egg. 8. Redhill Adventures
Looking for adventure for the older children?
